Employee Engagements is defined as the willingness for employees to expend discretionary effort on the job. They are willing to make that extra push when needed, to solve problems instead of just complain, and answer the phone at 4:59 even if it means they may need to stay late. Recent research shows though that 70% of American employees are not engaged. In this session we will cover:
- The cost of disengagement to organizations
- Key indicators and causes of disengagement
- Emotional engagement, the real factors that drive effort
- How every leader is involved in building engagement
- Five key strategies for increasing employee commitment and motivation

1:30 P.M. – 2:45 P.M. - Leading Change - Marvis Meyers, AAIM Employers Association
It is a trite, but true, statement that change is inevitable. There are many factors that can drive change in an organization. External factors such as technology, regulation, competition and social changes can impact how an organization must position itself. Internal factors, such as organizational and leadership changes can also drive change. To successfully lead change, leaders must be able to clearly articulate the case for change and manage the change process. In this session we will cover:
- Types and styles of change initiatives
- The roles of change leaders
- Guiding employees through the change phases
- Dealing with stress and resistance
- Making change permanent and positive
