This training is designed to provide Commissioners an overview on how the major HUD programs work (Public Housing, Capital Fund, & Housing Choice Voucher, etc.); including how the funds are received, what they can be used for, and the commissioners’ fiscal responsibility for those programs.  The legal roles and responsibilities of a commissioner within their role will also be covered.  Finally, the various repositioning options available to Housing Authority agencies as they are considering ways to improve/upgrade their aging buildings and infrastructure will be discussed, including an overview of Low Income Housing Tax Credits.
