This virtual session is Part II of a two-part series on the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) housing protections for survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking who apply for or reside in certain federally assisted housing programs. Led by Enfuse Action Collective (Enfuse), a technical assistance provider for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), this session will provide participants with:

·                A history of VAWA and its Housing Title.

·                An overview of VAWA's housing protections for survivors, including protections related to admissions, evictions, termination of assistance, lease bifurcation, and emergency transfers.

·                An overview of covered housing provider responsibilities under VAWA, including notice, documentation, and confidentiality requirements.

·                Promising practices for public housing agencies in implementing VAWA's housing provisions in a survivor-centered, trauma-informed manner while meeting HUD requirements.

This session is designed for public housing agency staff and other professionals responsible for implementing VAWA's housing provisions and supporting survivors in federally assisted housing programs.
