Overview of Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, Stalking, and the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA)

This virtual session is Part I of a two-part series on VAWA housing protections for survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking who apply for or live in certain federally assisted housing programs. Led by Enfuse Action Collective (Enfuse), a technical assistance provider for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the session will provide participants with:

• A foundational understanding of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking, including how these forms of violence and abuse can affect survivors’ housing stability and safety.
• A brief history of VAWA's Housing Title.

·                An introduction to HUD's VAWA resources and tools.

Part II of the series, to be offered later this year, will focus on survivor housing protections and housing provider responsibilities under VAWA’s Housing Title.
